The rechargable battery of my wireless mouse has been exhausted today, so I am currently browsing using only the keyboard and that has been a few painful hours. HTML has mechanisms to generate access keys and there are methods to help to the user to skip directly to the content, but is rare to find a site that uses those techniques. Amazingly the pages generated for the amin console of pLog (the blog software I am using) are keyboard friendly.
Mozilla Firefox provides some tools to ease keyboard navigation, like Find As You Type Link and Find As You Type Text, they allows the user to select a link or text with simply writing part of them. All the keyboard shortcuts for Firefox are documented. It is time for me to start doing test with only keyboard navigation to my HTML based applications, that could help a lot to people with disabilities, or that does not have batteries :-P
