New PHP release

robert | 14 July, 2004 21:52

Long time ago ;-) I investigated about PHP and decided to invest some of my time to learn it. A few weeks later I decided to do other things because I did not liked the language.

When I was looking for a blog software (Free software), I found an infant named plog. I noticed that it was developed in PHP, but I liked it over many other blog implementations because it was written using good object oriented PHP, at that moment I noticed that PHP has grown a lot as a language since the first days I used it, so I decided to learn it, and now it is for real.

Yesterday, I was notified about the newest release of PHP, version 5.0.0. I found this release a huge improvement, it borrows a lot of features of Java. I think that any Java programmer could master PHP easily with only a few weeks of dedication. Read the improvements over the previous release on the article named Changes in PHP 5/Zend Engine II
